Silas Jackson

Silas ‘Hosh’ Jackson, 74, of Muskegon, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at the Sanctuary at the Park Nursing Home in Muskegon. Silas was born on Friday, January 26, 2026 in Roberts Landing, Michigan the son of Albert and Melvina (Peters) Jackson. Hosh lived in Mt. Pleasant before moving to Grand Rapids for many years and then moving to Muskegon.
Hosh was employed as a machine operator for various companies in the Grand Rapids area. He enjoyed going to the park for walks, loved western movies and enjoyed Elvis, Hank Williams and Batman.
Hosh is survived by his nieces and nephews, Rosemary Storrs, Marilyn Sanders, Dan VanVugt, Marjorie Vasquez, Louise Hunt, Linda Hunt, Cindy Quigno and Susan; and many great nieces and nephews. Hosh was preceded in death by both parents; two brothers, Amos and John Jackson; and a sister, Elsie Storrs.
Funeral services for Silas will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 3, 2025 from the Chippewa Indian United Methodist Church with Rev. Owen White Pigeon officiating. Interment will take place in Woodland Cemetery near Rosebush following the funeral service. The family will gather with friends on Thursday from 6 – 9 p.m. at the church. A Prayer Service will be held on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the church.
